Divers Mind Designs is proudly hosted by Autism Canada as a dedicated hub for neurodivergent makers. This inclusive space celebrates the creativity, passion, and unique perspectives of individuals who identify as neurodivergent.

What does Neurodivergent mean?

Neurodivergent refers to individuals with brain differences that affect how they think, learn, and interact with the world. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Autism Spectrum

  • ADHD

  • Dyslexia and Dyscalculia

  • Dyspraxia

  • Tourette Syndrome

Why is this space important?

This market is strictly designated for neurodivergent makers because many face unique challenges in traditional employment settings, such as:

  • Sensory processing difficulties.

  • Anxiety and other mental health barriers.

  • Limited access to flexible work environments.

  • Difficulty leaving their homes or meeting rigid workplace expectations.

For many neurodivergent individuals, starting their own small business is an alternative that allows them to engage with their community at their own pace, in a way that minimizes barriers and honours their strengths. This space is dedicated to supporting those efforts and creating a platform where neurodivergent makers can thrive.

To maintain the integrity of this space, we kindly ask that all applicants identify as neurodivergent. If your shop platform does not reflect or indicate a connection to the neurodivergent community, we may contact you for clarification. Applications that do not align with this mission may be respectfully declined to ensure this space remains a true celebration of neurodivergent creativity.

We thank you for your understanding and support in keeping Divers Mind Designs a welcoming, empowering environment for the neurodivergent community.
